“Immunology/Immuno-Oncology lead scientist”

Leveraging these skills and expertise the Company intends to develop best-in-class differentiated therapeutics and deliver superior science-driven discovery alliances with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.


This position (18 months fixed term contract) should be filled in the « Translational Biology » department at EVOTEC France, in Toulouse.


Under the responsability of the head of the group « Immuno-Oncology » within the « Translational Biology » department, you will be in charge of the following tasks :

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist with a strong expertise in Immunology within the oncology field to contribute to our growing interest in the Immuno-Oncology area. She/He should have deep knowledge in Immunology research with preferred experience in innate immunity applied to Immuno-Oncology (NK cells, M1/M2 macrophages, MDSCs).

  • Knowledge’s and experience in tumor-associated immunosuppression pathways (IDO, Adenosine pathways, etc.) and in T-cell biology would be a plus

  • The successful candidate will collaborate in a multidisciplinary research team in an exciting, fast-paced discovery-oriented environment, and at the interface of several departments and sites.

  • She/He should develop Immunology/Immuno-Oncology expertise, know-how and capabilities within the Immuno-Oncology group inside the Translational department at Evotec Toulouse, working together with other scientists within the company.

  • She/He should autonomously design, schedule, budget and follow up drug discovery projects and propose innovative approaches for immuno-oncology indication using in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo approaches.

  • Minimum of PhD in Immunology and/or Immuno-Oncology.


  • A strong background in immunology and/or tumor immunology is required.

  • A deep understanding of cellular immunology, with a particular focus on modulation of innate immunity (M1/M2 macrophages, MDSCs, NK cells) as well as strong expertise in multicolor flow cytometry, cellular biology and cytokine measurements (ELISA, ELISpot, multiplexed approaches).

  • Ability for designing research projects including short-term and long-term experimental plans, needs assessment, plannings, studies follow up (timelines, costs, deliverables)

  • Strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills and with a demonstrated ability to work independently to design experiments, interpret data, troubleshoot, and suggest next steps.

  • Leadership skills and entrepreneurial behaviors to develop Immuno-Oncology science, targets and leads

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, work well independently and as a team leader, and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to organize and communicate complex data sets in a clear and concise manner to key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds

  • Ability to manage collaborators, supervise trainees and to train colleagues on the immunology field.

  • Other experiences in oncology and/or in drug discovery will be a plus


  • English: written / reading / spoken is required

  • French : written / reading / spoken is preferred.


  • At least 3-5 years post-doctoral experience required

  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry or biotechs would be a plus

  • Records and accomplishements in project management with clients/partners is preferred.
